Cambodia Climate
Cambodia located in the tropical zone near the equator that why this country has a monsoon climate.
Cambodia is either warm or hot all year around with two distinct seasons: wet and dry season as other Southeast Asia countries.
Wet season start from June to October with rains happen in the afternoon or at night. The afternoon rain usually last no more than a few hours.
Dry season divide into two sub-seasons, hot and cool. The cool dry season start from November to February.
The rains of monsoon trail off through October and November, and it has normally stopped completely by middle of November offering the best wonderful time of the year.
The hot dry season start from March to May when it is less breezy and the sun can be quite intense and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity.
Best time to visit Cambodia
December and January is the best time to visit Cambodia, when humidity levels are relatively low, there is little rainfall
and a cooling breeze whips across the land, but this is also peak season when the majority of visitors descend on the country.
Siem Reap
The climate and weather in Siem Reap is usually asked by tourists to Cambodia since Angkor Wat is the most attraction place for their trip. Climate is hot and muggy all year-round, just like other parts in Cambodia. There are two seasons here, which are differentiate by the amount of the rainfalls. November to April is dry season with the most comfortable temperatures and less rains.
Wet season is from May to October with showers in the afternoon and heavy downfalls in the midnight. The rainy season is a better choice of your visit in Cambodia.
Phnom Penh
The average temperature in Phnom Penh is from 28°C to 33°C. Phnom Penh has three basic seasons, the rainy season runs from June to October with rainfall regularly. February to May is summer season and the temperature gets very high with strong sunshine. So, December to January is the best time to visit Phnom Penh with a cooler temperature and less humidity.
Tonle Sap Lake
Tonle Sap is the largest natural freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. During the rainy season runs from June to October, the Tonle Sap Lake will be filled by the water in Mekong River. But the water will flow out from Tonle Sap Lake to Mekong River during the dry season from November to May. The best time to visit there should be July to December.Although the tourists can visit it all year-round.
